URL Monitor

URL Monitor started in 2002 as the shell script check_page.sh to simply retrieve webpages, calculate an MD5 hash, compare it with the previous version and if different, send out an email.
Along the way features were added such as:

• support for BSD-variants (initial development was done on Linux and OpenBSD)
• URL names, to allow nicer reporting
• universal diff in email
• storing versions on file
• timeouts, proxying, comments
• regular expression for parts of page to exclude

Since we are currently developing some other monitoring websites, we thought that URL Monitor might be a nice tool that should be made available to the general public (as far as the 'general public' would do monitoring of changes in websites).
